Wedding Photographer and Videographer in Tarrytown, NY

Riverfront estates, historic mansions and Hudson views in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, photographed and filmed by our team from New York.

Tarrytown sits on the Hudson River in western Westchester, where the river is at its widest and the Gilded Age left a string of estates along the bank. For couples who want water, stone and lawns in the same frame, it is one of the most photogenic places within reach of New York City. We photograph and film weddings here from our studio in New York, with the same team planning every event from the Haldi to the last dance.

Estates and riverfront venues

Tarrytown weddings tend to happen in three kinds of places: historic estates with formal gardens and river terraces, hotel and conference estates set in landscaped grounds, and smaller riverfront venues where the ceremony faces the water. Each asks for a different plan. Estates often have long distances between the getting-ready rooms, the ceremony lawn and the reception hall, so we walk the timeline with you and decide where each member of the team should be. Riverfront ceremonies face west, which means beautiful late light and strong backlight, so we plan the ceremony time and our positions around the sun.

Multi-day weddings in Tarrytown

Many of the families we work with hold a Mehndi or Sangeet at home or at a smaller venue the night before, then the wedding day at an estate. If your events are spread between Westchester, New York City and Long Island, that is a normal shape for the weekends we cover, and we plan the driving between them into your timeline.

Portraits along the river

Between the ceremony and the reception there is usually time for portraits. Riverfront lawns, stone balustrades, old trees and the bridge across the Hudson all give a Tarrytown wedding a sense of place. In the autumn the hills on the far bank turn red and gold, which suits red and gold bridal wear especially well. Sleepy Hollow, right next door, adds historic streets and the old Dutch church for a different look.

Getting to Tarrytown

From our studio, the drive crosses the Sound and runs up through Westchester, so we leave with plenty of margin on the wedding morning and plan around traffic on the bridges. For an early start, such as a morning puja or a sunrise Muhurtham, we arrange to arrive the evening before if needed.
