Historic hotels, country clubs and estate weddings in Morris County, plus Indian and fusion celebrations for families in Parsippany and the surrounding towns.
Morristown and the towns around it are known for classic, polished weddings: a historic hotel ballroom, a country club on rolling grounds, or an estate in the hills of Mendham and Bernardsville. As a wedding photographer in Morristown, NJ, and a wedding videographer, we cover Morris County and its neighbors, for American, Indian and fusion celebrations.
The area’s wedding venues fall into a few groups. Historic and boutique hotels in and around Morristown, including The Madison Hotel in Convent Station and The Westin Governor Morris, host ceremonies, cocktail hours and ballroom receptions under one roof. Country clubs in Florham Park, Madison, Summit and Basking Ridge offer manicured lawns, terraces and golf course views. In the Somerset Hills, estates and horse country around Mendham, Bernardsville and Peapack-Gladstone suit tented weddings with long views at sunset. Banquet venues along the Route 10 and Route 46 corridors host many larger receptions.
Historic ballrooms often have chandeliers, wood paneling and warm, low light, which looks rich in photographs when we plan for it. Outdoor ceremonies on club lawns are best timed for the softer light of late afternoon, especially in summer.
Parsippany-Troy Hills has one of the larger Indian American communities in North Jersey, and families across Morris County regularly host Indian and fusion weddings at local hotels and banquet venues. A typical weekend might include a Mehndi or Sangeet on Friday, a Baraat across the hotel forecourt on Saturday, Pheras under a mandap, and a reception that evening. Many couples blend traditions, with a Hindu ceremony in the morning and an American-style ceremony or first dance later in the day. Hotels and clubs here generally have experience with these weekends, but the Agni fire, the dhol and any horse or vehicle for the Baraat still need to be cleared with the venue early.
For Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayali families in Morris County, the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Bridgewater is a short drive south. A South Indian wedding here often means an early Muhurtham, so getting-ready coverage starts before sunrise. See our Indian wedding photography in New Jersey and South Indian wedding photography pages.
From our studio we reach Morristown either across the George Washington Bridge and west on I-80 and I-287, or across Staten Island and north on I-287, depending on traffic and time of day. For early ceremonies and multi-day weddings we plan to stay nearby so the team is on site before your day begins.
Morris County has several good engagement shoot settings. The Frelinghuysen Arboretum has formal gardens, a historic mansion and specimen trees, and it has its own photography rules. Jockey Hollow, part of Morristown National Historical Park, gives you woodland trails, split-rail fences and the restored soldier huts. The Morristown Green and the streets around it suit a downtown look with cafés and historic buildings. The Great Swamp, Loantaka Brook Reservation and the forest at Drew University in Madison offer quieter, natural backdrops.
Fall is the strongest season here, with foliage across the hills and warm light in the afternoon. Spring brings blossoms in the arboretum and the town greens, and winter gives a crisp, quiet look on clear days.

Many Morris County couples bring two traditions together. Here is how each choice shapes the day.
A Hindu ceremony in the morning and an American ceremony later, each with its own outfits.
Both traditions in a single ceremony, often shorter, with a shared officiant or a priest and a celebrant.
Morristown combines a historic town green with Revolutionary War sites and gardens. Some of these places ask for a permit or a fee for professional sessions; we check the current rules before we book a time.

Morris County’s historic ballrooms look rich when the light is planned with them, not against them.
