Wedding Photographer and Videographer in Brooklyn, NY
Loft, rooftop, waterfront and banquet hall weddings across Brooklyn, plus Bangladeshi and Pakistani celebrations in Kensington and Midwood.
Brooklyn weddings tend to be personal and design-led. Couples choose a converted warehouse in Williamsburg, a waterfront room in DUMBO, a rooftop with the skyline behind it or a brownstone getting-ready suite in Park Slope, and they want photographs that feel like them rather than a catalogue. As a Brooklyn wedding photographer and videographer, we cover intimate city weddings, large banquet hall receptions and everything between.
Lofts, rooftops and the waterfront
The borough’s signature venues are its industrial spaces: old factories, warehouses and printworks turned into event rooms, with brick walls, steel beams and tall windows. During the day those windows give soft, even light that is a gift for portraits and the ceremony. After dark, many of these rooms run on candles and string lights, which look warm in person but need careful lighting for photos and film. We plan that with your venue and designer so your first dance and toasts read clearly.
Along the water, DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park put the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges right behind you, and Red Hook offers piers and views toward the Statue of Liberty. In Prospect Park, the Boathouse is a well-known setting for ceremonies by the lake. Further south, Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Mill Basin have the classic Brooklyn catering halls built for large families and big dance floors.
South Asian weddings in Brooklyn
Brooklyn has its own South Asian neighborhoods. Kensington, around Church Avenue and McDonald Avenue, has a large Bangladeshi community, and Coney Island Avenue in Midwood is often called Little Pakistan. Weddings for these families often span several events: a Gaye Holud or Mehndi with music and color, the Nikah, the Rukhsati as the bride leaves with her new family, and a Walima hosted by the groom’s side. Each has a different mood, and we cover them as separate chapters of one story. See our Muslim and Nikah wedding photography and South Asian wedding photography pages.
Brooklyn is also a common choice for fusion and interfaith couples who want a Hindu ceremony in the afternoon and a loft reception at night, or a short Sangeet the evening before. We are comfortable moving between those styles in one day. Our Indian wedding photography in New York City page covers multi-day planning across the boroughs.
Getting to Brooklyn
From our studio we reach Brooklyn by the Southern State and Belt Parkway or by the LIE and the BQE, depending on where you are marrying and the time of day. Parking is tight in DUMBO, Williamsburg and brownstone neighborhoods, so we confirm loading and parking with your venue in advance and allow extra time on the route. For early ceremonies we plan for traffic on the Belt, which can be heavy even on weekends.
Engagement shoots in Brooklyn
Brooklyn is one of the best places in New York for an engagement shoot. Washington Street in DUMBO frames the Manhattan Bridge between old warehouse walls; it is busy, so sunrise is the time to go. Pebble Beach and the piers of Brooklyn Bridge Park give you the skyline at sunset. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade, Domino Park in Williamsburg, the brownstone blocks of Fort Greene and Carroll Gardens, and the Long Meadow in Prospect Park all photograph well.
Fall is Brooklyn’s best season: tree-lined streets turn gold and the light gets warm early in the evening. Spring brings blossoms to Prospect Park and the brownstone stoops. Summer shoots work best early or late, and winter gives you crisp air and low sun along the water.

Getting ready in a Brooklyn brownstone
Small rooms, tall windows and a stoop out front.
Brownstone getting-ready rooms tend to be narrow, with tall front windows that give beautiful soft light. We set the bride or groom near the window and keep the room tidy behind them, so the photos feel calm even with family coming and going.
The stoop and the block outside are part of the story too: a first look on the steps, the family gathered at the railing, or a quick portrait under the street trees before you leave.
- Choose the room with the largest window
- Move clutter out before the team arrives
- Plan a car pickup point that does not block the street

Loading in at a Brooklyn loft venue
What happens before guests arrive at an industrial space.
- 01
Confirm the loading point
We check the freight entrance, elevator and parking with the venue before the day. - 02
Walk the room in daylight
We note where the windows face and where the ceremony light will fall. - 03
Photograph the room untouched
Tables, florals and candles before anyone sits down. - 04
Talk to the lighting and DJ team
So the first dance and toasts are lit clearly enough for photos and film. - 05
Plan the move after dark
When candles and string lights take over, we add our own light in a way that keeps the warmth of the room.

Brick, steel and the bridges overhead
Brooklyn’s old warehouses and arches give portraits a sense of the city without the crowds of Midtown.
