Wedding Photographer and Videographer in New York City

NYC wedding photography and videography across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx, for Indian, South Asian, American and fusion weddings.

New York City weddings run on their own clock. Ceremonies are set around hotel load-in times, family portraits happen between traffic lights, and a Sangeet in Queens can be followed the next morning by a ceremony in a Midtown ballroom. As an NYC wedding photographer and videographer based in New York, we cover all five boroughs and plan each day around the realities of the city.

The boroughs we cover

  • Manhattan: hotel ballrooms, rooftops, City Hall weddings and Central Park portraits.
  • Brooklyn: industrial lofts, waterfront venues in DUMBO and Williamsburg, and brownstone streets.
  • Queens: banquet halls and family celebrations in Richmond Hill, Jackson Heights, Flushing and along Hillside Avenue.
  • Staten Island: waterfront catering halls and harbor views.
  • The Bronx: we also cover weddings and events in the Bronx, from Riverdale to City Island.

What city weddings ask of your team

The city rewards planning. Many Manhattan hotels have set load-in windows and freight elevator schedules, so our gear and team arrive on the hotel’s timeline. Portraits in public places work best early in the day or in quieter corners, because Times Square at noon does not give anyone a calm frame. Moving between a ceremony and portrait locations often takes longer than the map suggests, so we build buffer time into your schedule and talk it through with your planner.

Video adds its own questions. Loud ballrooms, dhol players and live bands make clean audio a planning task, and filming in public spaces with larger setups can need permission, so we keep street coverage light and mobile. Our NYC wedding videography page goes into the detail.

Indian and South Asian weddings in NYC

New York has one of the largest South Asian populations in the country, and its weddings reflect that. Queens neighborhoods like Jackson Heights, Richmond Hill and Floral Park are home to Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Malayali and Indo-Caribbean families. Flushing is home to the Hindu Temple Society of North America, the Ganesh Temple, a landmark for many Tamil and Telugu families in the region. In Manhattan, Indian weddings often take place in hotel ballrooms, where the Baraat is planned around the hotel’s rules on horses, dhol and street access.

See Indian wedding photography in New York City and South Indian wedding photography in New York City for how we approach multi-day weddings and early Muhurtham schedules here. We also cover Nikah and Anand Karaj ceremonies across the boroughs.

Engagements, proposals and events

NYC is one of the most requested places for engagement and proposal shoots: Central Park’s Bow Bridge and Bethesda Terrace, the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise, DUMBO’s cobblestones, and Gantry Plaza State Park with the Manhattan skyline across the East River. Spring and fall give the softest light. Summer shoots work best at sunrise, before the crowds and the heat. Winter brings holiday windows and lights in Midtown.

Getting into the city

From our studio we reach eastern Queens quickly on a normal day, and Midtown by car or by Long Island Rail Road into Penn Station or Grand Central Madison. For early starts in Manhattan or Brooklyn we plan the route the night before and allow extra time for bridges and tunnels. Parking at hotels and venues is something we confirm ahead, so it never eats into your coverage.

Whatever borough you choose, look at our films and portfolio, and contact us with your date.

Five boroughs, one timeline

A Mehndi in Queens, a ceremony in Midtown and a Walima in Brooklyn can all fit one celebration. The work is in the routes and the timing between them.

Landmarks across New York City

The city gives couples a different backdrop in every borough. Some of these places ask for a permit or a fee for professional sessions; we check the current rules before we book a time.

  • Central Park

Bethesda Terrace, the fountain and Bow Bridge are among the most recognisable places in the city for a portrait, with lawns and lakes nearby for quieter frames.

  • Brooklyn Bridge Park

  • Grand Central Terminal

The Beaux-Arts concourse, its celestial ceiling and the four-faced clock make it one of the most photographed interiors in New York.

How we plan a wedding weekend that crosses the boroughs

A typical order of planning when your events sit in different parts of the city.

  1. 01

    Map every event

We list each event with its address, start time and the people who need to be in the photos, so nothing depends on memory on the day.
  2. 02

    Check access at each venue

Loading docks, freight elevators, parking and the earliest time the team can enter, confirmed with each venue or coordinator.
  3. 03

    Plan the gaps

Crossing a bridge or tunnel can take longer than the map suggests, so we set realistic gaps between events and tell you where coverage pauses.
  4. 04

    Split the team where needed

If the bride and groom are getting ready in different boroughs, we can place a photographer or videographer with each side.
  5. 05

    Share the plan

Your planner, family point of contact and our team all work from the same timeline and contact list.
  6. 06

    Regroup for the main event

Everyone arrives at the ceremony or reception with time to set up before guests are seated.

Photos in city parks and public spaces

General rules of thumb before you pick a location.

New York’s parks, plazas and waterfronts are shared spaces, and each one sets its own rules. Handheld portraits are usually straightforward, while tripods, lighting stands, props, large groups or a bigger crew can call for a permit. Some gardens and historic sites have their own photography policies and fees.

We keep public sessions light and mobile, and we check the current rules for your chosen spots before the date, so nobody is asked to pack up halfway through.

  • Weekday mornings are quieter almost everywhere
  • Leave props and furniture for private venues
  • Have a second location in mind if a spot is closed or crowded
