Wedding Videographer in NYC, Long Island and New Jersey

Wedding films for every kind of celebration in New York and New Jersey, from a short highlight film to full ceremony and speech edits, with drone where allowed.

A wedding film gives you back the parts of the day you could not see and the sounds you will want to hear again: your vows, your parents’ toast, the room when you walked in. Verma Photography is a wedding videographer team for NYC, Long Island and New Jersey, based in New York, with full-time videographers and editors on staff. We film American weddings, Indian and South Asian weddings, and the many weddings that are a mix of both.

What wedding videography coverage looks like

We plan your coverage around the shape of your day. For many couples that means getting ready, a first look, the ceremony, family moments, couple portraits, cocktail hour and the reception. For multi-day cultural weddings it means separate plans for each event, from a Sangeet or Mehndi to a Nikah, an Anand Karaj or a South Indian Muhurtham.

  • Getting ready

the details, the final touches, the people in the room with you.
  • The ceremony

filmed from positions agreed with your officiant or priest, with clean audio of vows and readings where possible.
  • Portraits and in-between moments

time with you as a couple, and the guests who make your day what it is.
  • The reception

entrances, first dance, parent dances, toasts and the dance floor.

Multi-day and fusion weddings

Many of our couples celebrate over more than one day, with Indian and American events in the same wedding. One of our couples had a four-day celebration. We keep the look of your films consistent across every event, so the Haldi on Friday and the reception on Sunday feel like one story. If your wedding includes South Asian ceremonies, see Indian wedding videography for more detail.

What you receive

  • A highlight film

built around the real sound of your day: vows, speeches and music.
  • Longer edits

of the ceremony and speeches, depending on your package.
  • Drone footage

of your venue and outdoor moments, where airspace and venue rules allow. See drone videography.
  • Photography from the same team

if you book both. See wedding photography.

Packages can be customized with extra hours and add-ons. See our films page for examples.

Sound is half the film

Couples often tell us the speeches and vows are what they rewatch most. We plan audio for every part of the day: discreet microphones for the ceremony where your officiant agrees, a feed from your DJ or band for toasts, and backup recording where it makes sense. Good sound is planned before the wedding, not fixed afterwards.

How planning works

  1. 01

    A first conversation

about your date, venue, guest count and the style of film you like.
  2. 02

    A coverage plan

with the right hours and crew for your day.
  3. 03

    A timeline review

before the wedding, including speeches, performances and who handles sound.
  4. 04

    The wedding

, with a team that arrives early and works quietly around your guests.
  5. 05

    Editing

by our in-house editors, delivered as agreed in your package.

Why the team matters on your wedding day

Your videographer spends more time near you on your wedding day than almost anyone else. Couples who review us often mention a friendly team, professionalism, attention to detail and an experience that felt effortless. Those qualities matter on film too: people relax around a crew they are comfortable with, and that shows in the footage. For cultural ceremonies, knowing the order of the rituals means the camera is already rolling when the moment comes.

Choosing the style of your film

Before the wedding, we ask what you want to feel when you watch your film in ten years. Some couples want a short, music-led highlight film to share with friends. Others want the whole ceremony and every speech, uncut, so a grandparent who could not travel can watch it all. Many want both. Telling us early helps us plan where to put cameras and microphones, and how much of the day to cover.

It also helps to send us a few films you like, from us or anyone else, and a few you do not. That tells us more about pacing, music and color than any description. If there are songs that matter to you, or a reading or speech you want included in full, let us know when we review your timeline.

Where we film weddings

We film across New York City, including Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens; all of Long Island, out to the Hamptons; Westchester and the Hudson Valley; and every part of New Jersey. For local detail, see wedding videography in New York City, on Long Island and in New Jersey. We also travel for destination weddings. Ask about your date.

Filming a ceremony indoors or outdoors

Both work well on film. They need different plans for picture and sound.

Church, hall or ballroom

Sound is easier, light is harder, and positions are usually set by your officiant or the venue.

  • Camera positions agreed with the officiant in advance
  • Low light, often without flash or extra lighting
  • Organ, choir or band captured from the venue’s sound system where possible
  • Little movement once the service starts

Garden, beach or rooftop

Light is easier, sound is harder, and the weather has a vote.

  • Wind covers on every microphone
  • Ceremony timing checked against the sun’s position
  • More freedom to move, so more angles
  • A covered backup agreed before the day

A same-day edit for your reception

A same-day edit is a short film of your wedding, made while the wedding is still happening and played for your guests before the night ends. Getting ready, the first look, the ceremony, the portraits: everyone watches a day they are still in.

It takes planning. We agree the song and the moments before the wedding, and test the film on the venue’s screen and speakers before it plays. We made a same-day edit for Zeel & Paras, and we are glad to talk you through how one would fit your day. See more of our work on the films page.
