About Verma Photography

A New York studio of full-time photographers, videographers and editors, led by Jay Verma, photographing and filming weddings for 10 years.

Verma Photography is a wedding and event photography and videography studio in New York. Jay Verma leads a team of full-time photographers, videographers and editors, so your coverage, from the first shoot to the final edit, stays with one studio.

Built for weddings that run for days

Many of the weddings we cover are not one event. They are a Haldi in the morning and a Mehndi the night before, a Sangeet with both families on the dance floor, a ceremony, and a reception that may follow American traditions. One of our couples celebrated over four days. We plan coverage around that whole arc, so each event gets proper attention and your story holds together from the first ritual to the last dance.

Every tradition, done properly

We photograph and film weddings from across South Asia and its diaspora, and we learn your order of events before the day so we know when the Thaali is tied, when the Laavan begin or when the Nikah is signed, and where we need to stand.

What couples tell us

Reviews from our couples talk about a friendly team, professionalism, attention to detail, on-time delivery and an experience that felt easy. They also tell us we were there for every event. You can read them on our reviews page.

More than weddings

We also cover engagement and pre-wedding shoots, proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, sweet 16s and corporate events, portraits and staff headshots, and drone photo and video. Your photographs can come as digital files, albums or canvas prints.

Where we work

We cover all of New York, including New York City, Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson Valley, and all of New Jersey. We also travel for destination weddings. See the areas we serve, or tell us about your wedding.

How our team is organized

Photography, film and editing under one studio.

  • Photographers

Our photographers cover the stills, from the details in the morning to the dance floor at night. On larger weddings, more than one photographer means both families and both sides of the day are covered.

  • Videographers

Our videographers film the day and record the vows, mantras and speeches, working alongside the photographers rather than around them.

  • Editors

Our editors turn the coverage into your galleries and films. They are part of the same studio, so they can talk directly with the team who were at your wedding.

  • The studio

Planning, questions and your order of events come through our studio in New York, so you deal with one team from inquiry to delivery.

Why we focus on multi-day cultural weddings

A wedding that runs across several days asks more of a team than a single event. The same faces need to appear across the Haldi, the Sangeet and the reception. Relatives change outfits and roles from one day to the next. And the order of the rituals matters deeply to the families.

Covering the full arc also means your families get to know our team over the weekend, and that ease shows in the photographs and films.

Jay Verma leads the studio

Jay Verma owns and leads Verma Photography. He has built a team of full-time photographers, videographers and editors, so couples work with one studio throughout rather than a different set of people for each part of the day.

When you get in touch, your events, your traditions and the team they need are planned together at the studio.
