Event Photographer for NYC, Long Island and New Jersey

Photo and video for corporate events, birthdays, sweet 16s, anniversaries and family celebrations across NYC, Long Island and New Jersey.

The people at your event will remember how it felt. The photos are how everyone else sees it, and how you will see it again later. Verma Photography is an event photographer and videographer team serving NYC, Long Island and New Jersey, with full-time photographers, videographers and editors based in New York. We cover corporate events, birthdays, sweet 16s, anniversaries and family celebrations with the same planning we bring to weddings.

Corporate events

Conferences, product launches, holiday parties, award nights and company milestones each need a different kind of coverage. Before the event we ask what the photos are for: a press release, social media, an internal newsletter, next year’s marketing. That tells us what to prioritize.

  • Speakers and stage moments,

including the key slides or announcements.
  • Networking and candids

that show people engaged, not just standing in a room.
  • Sponsor, branding and venue details

    for marketing use.
  • Group photos

of teams, leadership and award winners, organized quickly so the program keeps moving.

Many companies pair event coverage with staff headshots on the same day, so the whole team leaves with an updated headshot.

Birthdays and sweet 16s

A milestone birthday or a sweet 16 is a party with a program: an entrance, a candle ceremony or speeches, a first dance with a parent, performances, and a lot of time on the dance floor. We plan around the order of the evening, photograph the details your family spent months choosing, and make sure grandparents and close friends are in the pictures, not just the guest of honor.

Anniversaries and family celebrations

A 25th or 50th anniversary often brings together family who have not all been in one room for years. We make time for the group photos you will want framed, and stay with the toasts, the cake and the stories. We also photograph engagement parties and family ceremonies such as a Roka or Sagai.

How planning works

  1. 01

    Tell us about the event

date, venue, guest count, schedule and how you will use the photos.
  2. 02

    We put together coverage

with the right hours and team.
  3. 03

    Before the event

we confirm the run of show, key people to photograph, and any venue or branding guidelines.
  4. 04

    On the day

we arrive early, check in with your organizer and work quietly around your guests.
  5. 05

    Editing and delivery

by our in-house team, as agreed.

Why the team matters

Event photography is about reading a room: knowing when to move to the stage, when a group is about to form, and when to step back. Our team photographs large multi-day weddings, and that experience carries over to events. Clients who review us often mention a friendly, professional team, attention to detail and on-time delivery.

Planning tips for event organizers

  • Share the run of show

Even a rough schedule tells us when to be at the stage and when to work the room.
  • Name the must-have people

A short list of executives, speakers, sponsors or family members makes sure they are photographed, even in a crowd.
  • Tell us how the photos will be used

Social media, print and press each need slightly different framing.
  • Plan group photos into the program

Five minutes set aside is far quicker than trying to gather people later.
  • Check the lighting

Dim rooms and colored stage lights are common. Knowing in advance lets us plan for them.
  • Ask about fast turnaround

If you need a few images during or right after the event for social media, tell us when you book and we will discuss what is possible.

Where we photograph events

We cover corporate and private events across New York City, including Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens; all of Long Island; Westchester; and every part of New Jersey, including Jersey City and Morristown. For more on city events, see event photography in New York City. Ask about your date.

Corporate events and family celebrations

The camera work is similar. The brief is not.

Corporate events

The photos have a job to do after the event is over.

  • For your marketing team, press and staff
  • Priorities set by a shot list: speakers, sponsors, named people
  • Quiet work around a run of show
  • Framed for websites, social posts and print

Family celebrations

The photos are for the family, and for the relatives who could not be there.

  • For albums, frames and the family group chat
  • Priorities set by people: the guest of honor, grandparents, old friends
  • Closer and warmer, with time for the stories
  • Group photos you will want on the wall

Recreating your wedding photo at an anniversary

If you are celebrating a 25th or 50th anniversary, bring your wedding album. A simple idea that families enjoy is recreating a photo from your wedding day: the same pose, perhaps some of the same people, years later.

We look at the original together before the event, work out the pose and the angle, and set it up during a quiet moment. Children and grandchildren can stand where the wedding party once did.

  • Bring the original print or a scan
  • Tell us who was in it, and who will be there now
  • Bring the veil, the tie or anything else you kept

A conference day, from doors to drinks

How we cover a full-day corporate event.

  1. 01

    Before doors open

The venue, the stage, signage and sponsor displays, while the rooms are still empty.
  2. 02

    Registration

Arrivals, badges and first conversations, which often give the best candids of the day.
  3. 03

    Opening session

The speaker, the slides that matter and the audience reacting, shot from the sides and back so we never block a view.
  4. 04

    Breakouts and networking

We move between rooms, working from your list of people to photograph.
  5. 05

    Awards and announcements

Winners on stage, the handshake, then a quick group photo before everyone sits down.
  6. 06

    The evening reception

A looser, warmer set of pictures, and a last chance for any group we missed.
