Wedding Photographer and Videographer in Princeton, NJ
Inn, golf club, farm and estate weddings around Princeton, plus South Asian celebrations for families in Plainsboro, West Windsor and Robbinsville.
Princeton weddings combine a historic university town with the open farmland of Mercer and Somerset counties. Couples choose an inn on Palmer Square, a golf club with long green views, a restored barn near Hopewell or a hotel ballroom along Route 1. As a wedding photographer in Princeton, NJ, and a videographer too, we cover weddings across the area, from small campus-town celebrations to large South Asian receptions.
Princeton’s wedding venues
In town, the Nassau Inn on Palmer Square is one of the best-known settings, with a colonial-style lobby and the streets of downtown Princeton right outside. Along the Route 1 corridor, large hotels and conference centers host receptions with ballrooms and space for ceremonies, which suits big Indian weddings. Golf and country clubs in Monroe, Skillman and Lawrenceville offer lawns and terraces for outdoor ceremonies. In Hopewell, Pennington and Hillsborough, farms, barns and estates give couples a rustic look within easy reach of town.
Each brings a different look. Historic interiors have warm, low light and wood paneling. Hotel ballrooms are built for stage lighting and big dance floors. Farm venues have long views at sunset and dark barns after dusk. We plan coverage around the space you choose and the time of year.
South Asian families around Princeton
Plainsboro and West Windsor are home to large Indian American communities, with many Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi families, and the area is close to the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, a major landmark for the region’s Hindu community. Weddings here often include a Mehndi or Garba at home or in a hall, a Baraat and ceremony, and a reception the same evening or the next day.
For South Indian families, Princeton sits between two important temples: the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Bridgewater to the north and the Sri Guruvayurappan Temple in Morganville to the east. A Telugu or Tamil wedding here might start with a Muhurtham early in the morning, followed by the Kashi Yatra, the Oonjal, the Thaali or Mangalsutra tying, Saptapadi and, for Telugu families, Jeelakarra Bellam and Talambralu. Getting there
Princeton is one of our longer New Jersey drives, across Staten Island and down the Turnpike or Route 1. For early ceremonies and multi-day weddings we plan to stay nearby the night before, so the team is fresh and on site before your getting-ready coverage starts.
Engagement shoots in and around Princeton
Princeton is one of New Jersey’s most popular engagement shoot towns. The university’s Gothic arches and stone courtyards, the gardens at Prospect House, Marquand Park and the streets around Palmer Square all photograph well, and couples should be mindful of campus guidelines and busy class times. Lake Carnegie and the Delaware and Raritan Canal towpath give you water and trees, with rowers on the lake in the early morning. Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton has gardens and artworks, with its own rules for photo sessions.
Fall is the classic Princeton season, with the campus trees in full color and warm late-afternoon light. Spring brings cherry and magnolia blossoms across town, and summer evenings on the canal are long and golden.

Stone, ivy and wood paneling
Princeton’s historic interiors need their own lighting plan.
The older inns, clubs and halls around Princeton often have dark wood, small windows and warm lamps. That look is rich and inviting in person, and it needs careful light in photographs and film.
We use the windows we have for portraits, then add gentle light for the reception, so the room still looks like itself rather than flat and bright.
