Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Past the Unisphere, the Fountain of the Planets pool and the paths around Meadow Lake give you open water and sky on the same visit.

Weddings, Sangeets and receptions across Queens, from Richmond Hill and Jackson Heights to Flushing and Floral Park, a short drive from our New York studio.
Queens is the borough right next door to our New York studio, and for many of the families we work with it is home. As a Queens wedding photographer and videographer, we cover weddings, Mehndis, Sangeets and receptions across the borough, from the banquet halls of Richmond Hill to temple ceremonies in Flushing and family homes along Hillside Avenue.
Richmond Hill is one of the most important South Asian neighborhoods in New York. Liberty Avenue is the center of the Guyanese and Trinidadian Indo-Caribbean community, and the streets around it are home to a large Punjabi Sikh community and several gurdwaras. A wedding photographer in Richmond Hill needs to be comfortable in both.
Indo-Caribbean Hindu weddings have their own traditions: the Matikor with the women of the family, the cook night where relatives prepare food together, and a ceremony under the mandap with tassa drums setting the energy. Sikh weddings center on the Anand Karaj, with the Milni between families and the four Laavan around the Guru Granth Sahib. Inside a gurdwara we cover our heads, remove our shoes and follow the committee’s guidance on where to stand and whether flash is allowed. Our Sikh and Punjabi wedding photography and South Asian wedding photography pages go further.
Jackson Heights, around 74th Street, is where many families shop for wedding jewelry and outfits, and it is home to Bangladeshi, Nepali, Indian and Pakistani communities. Weddings here often include a Gaye Holud, a Mehndi night, the Nikah and a Walima, sometimes spread across a full week. See our Muslim and Nikah wedding photography page.
Flushing is home to the Hindu Temple Society of North America, the Ganesh Temple on Bowne Street, a landmark for Tamil, Telugu and other South Indian families across the region. South Indian weddings for Queens families often begin with a Muhurtham early in the morning, then the Kashi Yatra, the Oonjal, the Thaali tying and Saptapadi, and Telugu ceremonies add Jeelakarra Bellam and Talambralu. Our South Indian wedding photography page explains how we plan for a start before sunrise.
Along Hillside Avenue through Bellerose and Floral Park, at the Nassau border, there is a large Malayali community alongside Punjabi and Gujarati families. Kerala Hindu weddings tend to be short, focused morning ceremonies, and Kerala Christian weddings center on the Minnu tying in church, followed by a reception.
Queens weddings happen in a wide range of places: large banquet halls with separate rooms for the ceremony and reception, temple halls, family homes for the Haldi and Mehndi, hotel ballrooms near the airports, and waterfront spaces with skyline views in Long Island City and Astoria. Terrace on the Park, inside Flushing Meadows Corona Park, is one of the borough’s best-known reception venues. Many Queens Sangeets are held on weeknights after work, and we cover evening events as well as full wedding days.
Queens is the easiest borough for us to reach. From our studio we take the Northern State, the LIE or the Grand Central Parkway, and eastern Queens is a short drive away. That proximity helps with early Muhurtham starts and with multi-day weddings where you need us on several nights in a row.
Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City gives you the Manhattan skyline across the East River, best at sunset. The Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park is a classic Queens backdrop, and the park’s trees bloom in spring. Fort Totten Park in Bayside has stone fortifications and water views, and the Tudor streets of Forest Hills Gardens suit couples who want a quieter, old-world look. The Queens Botanical Garden is lovely in spring and summer and has its own photography rules. Start with our engagement photography in New York City page.

Many Queens families host the first events at home. A little preparation helps the photos.
Queens mixes parks, waterfront views of Manhattan and some of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country. Some of these places ask for a permit or a fee for professional sessions; we check the current rules before we book a time.
Home of the Unisphere and the fountains left from the World’s Fairs. The steel globe makes a bold, unmistakably Queens backdrop.
Themed gardens in Flushing, from roses to a wedding garden, with paths that suit both small groups and portraits.
Long Island City’s waterfront park, with the restored gantries and a wide view of Midtown across the East River.

In their own words on Google: four-day weddings, Diwali parties, anniversaries and more.
Parks and waterfronts across the borough for engagement and pre-wedding shoots.
Both are common in Queens. They ask for different planning.
Built for scale, with a ceremony room, a cocktail space and the reception, often with other events in the building the same day.
Closer to the rituals, with the priest and the temple committee setting the pace and the rules.
