Wedding Photographer and Videographer in New Jersey

Indian, South Indian, South Asian and American weddings across New Jersey, from the banquet palaces of Central Jersey to North Jersey estates and the Hudson waterfront.

New Jersey is one of the busiest wedding states in the country for South Asian families, and one of the most varied for everyone else. In a single season you might see a three-day Gujarati wedding in Central Jersey, a Telugu Muhurtham near Bridgewater, a country club wedding in Morris County and a rooftop reception with the Manhattan skyline in Jersey City. As an NJ wedding photographer and videographer, we cover all of New Jersey from our studio in New York.

New Jersey’s wedding regions

Central Jersey is the heart of the state’s Indian wedding scene. Around Edison, Iselin, Piscataway, New Brunswick and Somerset you find large banquet halls and hotels built for receptions of several hundred guests, including well-known names such as Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords, The Palace at Somerset Park and the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick. See our Edison and Central Jersey page.

North Jersey mixes grand estates and banquet venues in Bergen, Passaic and Essex counties, places like The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains and The Venetian in Garfield, with country clubs and historic hotels in Morris County. See our Morristown page.

The Princeton area offers university-town charm, inns, golf clubs and farms, with a large South Asian community in Plainsboro and West Windsor. See our Princeton page.

The Hudson waterfront in Jersey City, Hoboken and Weehawken gives you skyline views across the river. See our Jersey City page.

Indian and South Asian weddings in New Jersey

New Jersey has one of the largest Indian American populations in the United States, with deep Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayali and Bengali communities, and growing Pakistani and Bangladeshi ones. Oak Tree Road in Edison and Iselin is the shopping street for wedding outfits and jewelry, and Journal Square in Jersey City has its own India Square. Weddings here are often long and layered: Pithi or Haldi, Mehndi, Garba or Sangeet, a Baraat with dhol, the ceremony and a reception, sometimes across four days. We cover multi-day weddings with a mix of Indian and American events, and our Indian wedding photography in New Jersey page explains how we plan them.

South Indian weddings have a strong home in New Jersey. The Sri Venkateswara Temple in Bridgewater is a landmark for many Telugu and Tamil families, and the Sri Guruvayurappan Temple in Morganville is a gathering place for Malayali families. Ceremonies often begin with an early Muhurtham, and include the Kashi Yatra, the Oonjal, Jeelakarra Bellam and Talambralu at Telugu weddings, and the Thaali tying and Saptapadi. See South Indian wedding photography in New Jersey.

Travel from Long Island

We reach New Jersey by two main routes: across Staten Island and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to the Outerbridge Crossing or Goethals Bridge for Central Jersey, or across the George Washington Bridge for Bergen and Morris counties. For early ceremonies, Muhurtham starts and multi-day weddings, we plan around bridge traffic and stay nearby when the schedule calls for it.

Engagement shoots in New Jersey

Popular engagement shoot settings include Liberty State Park with the Statue of Liberty and the skyline, Hoboken’s waterfront piers, the Princeton campus and its tree-lined streets, Duke Farms in Hillsborough, the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown and Sandy Hook’s beaches. Many parks and gardens have their own photo session rules, and we help you check before you book. Fall is the favorite season, with spring blossoms a close second.

Other corners of New Jersey couples ask about

We cover the whole state, not only the busiest wedding towns.

  • The Jersey Shore

Boardwalk towns such as Asbury Park and Long Branch for beach portraits, and the Victorian streets of Cape May further south.

  • Delaware River towns

Lambertville and the river towns along the canal have bridges, old mills and a slower pace.

  • Hunterdon farms

Rolling farmland and barns for couples who want space and an open sky.

  • The Skylands

Lakes and ridges in Sussex and Warren counties, with strong color in the fall.

  • Bergen County

Banquet venues and estate-style rooms close to the George Washington Bridge.

A Central Jersey banquet palace or a North Jersey estate

Two common choices for South Asian families, with different strengths.

Central Jersey banquet palace

Close to Oak Tree Road and many families’ homes, built for large guest lists and multiple events.

  • Grand staircases for entrances and group photos
  • Separate rooms for the ceremony and reception
  • Stage lighting for the dance floor
  • Room for a long Baraat in the forecourt

North Jersey estate or castle-style venue

More formal grounds, with gardens and terraces for portraits between events.

  • Outdoor ceremony options in good weather
  • Gardens and fountains on site
  • Fewer events sharing the building
  • A longer drive for some guests from Central Jersey
