Headshot Photographer in New York City

Professional headshots and staff portraits for New York City teams, actors and professionals, on location at your office or at a place that suits your brand.

In New York, your headshot often makes the first impression before you do: on LinkedIn, a company website, a speaker page or a casting profile. As a headshot photographer in NYC, we photograph individuals and whole teams, on location at your office or at a spot in the city that fits your brand.

Staff headshots at your office

For companies, the most efficient approach is usually to bring the session to you. We set up a portable backdrop and lighting in a conference room or an open corner of your office and photograph staff one by one, so each person is away from their desk for only a few minutes. The result is a consistent set of headshots with the same background, lighting and framing, which looks clean on a team page.

New York offices bring practical details: building security, freight elevator bookings for equipment, and rooms with glass walls or strong window light. We confirm access with your office manager in advance and adapt the setup to the space.

Environmental portraits

Many brands now want portraits that show people in context rather than against a plain backdrop: at a desk, in a studio, in a lobby or on the street outside the office. Manhattan and Brooklyn give us plenty to work with, from glass towers and brick lofts to quiet tree-lined blocks. We look for clean backgrounds and soft light, and keep the person as the clear focus.

Individual sessions

For professionals, founders, real estate agents, authors and performers, we offer individual headshot and portrait sessions on location. A short session can cover a classic headshot for profiles plus a few relaxed, wider portraits for a website or press. We talk through what you will wear, how you want to come across and where the images will be used, so the session is focused.

Light and timing in the city

Outdoor sessions in New York work best in open shade or at the softer ends of the day, because midday sun between tall buildings throws harsh light and deep shadows. Overcast days are surprisingly good for headshots. For indoor sessions we bring our own lighting, so time of day matters less.

Headshots at events and conferences

A conference, offsite or team day is a good moment to run a headshot station alongside event coverage. Attendees get an updated photo and you get images of the event itself. See event photography in New York City.

Family and couple portraits

Beyond business, we photograph family portraits, anniversary portraits and couples across the city, often in Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park or a neighborhood that means something to you. Outdoor spots for headshots in New York City

Outdoor headshots work best in open shade with a soft background. These public places give both. Some of these places ask for a permit or a fee for professional sessions; we check the current rules before we book a time.

Color or black and white

Most team pages and LinkedIn profiles use color, because it is friendly and easy to match across a team. Black and white suits founders, creatives, speaker bios and press pages, where a portrait can carry a little more character.

If you are not sure, tell us where the image will appear and we will light the session so it works either way.
