A same-day edit

This is a same-day edit from Zeel and Paras’s wedding: the Haldi, the portraits and the dance floor, cut and screened on the wedding day. A same-day edit is filmed in the morning and early afternoon, edited during the wedding while the celebration carries on, and shown to guests at the reception that same night.

How it comes together

On a same-day edit, part of the team keeps filming while an editor works through the footage already captured. The film is built around the events that happen early, such as getting ready, the Haldi and portraits, because those can be cut in time. Music, color and pacing are decided on the day, so we agree the tone of the film with the couple before the wedding.

Turmeric, flower petals and a lot of movement make a Haldi one of the most fun events to film, and one of the hardest to keep clean in the edit. Here it sits alongside the couple’s portraits and the energy of the dance floor.

Screening on the night

We agree the screening moment with your planner and DJ in advance, usually after dinner and before the dancing starts, and test the projector or screen at the venue beforehand so the film plays without a hitch.

Is a same-day edit right for you?

It suits couples who want their guests to see the film while everyone is still together, and families with relatives who are traveling in for the wedding. It does not replace the longer highlight film delivered afterwards. Read more about Indian wedding films and wedding videography, or ask about a same-day edit for your date.
