Wedding Videographer on Long Island

Wedding films across Nassau and Suffolk from our New York studio, for mansion, catering hall, waterfront and multi-day Indian weddings.

Long Island is our home, and it is where we film more weddings than anywhere else. As a Long Island wedding videographer working from our studio in New York, we know how a North Shore mansion sounds when the string quartet starts, how a South Shore marina looks when the wind picks up, and how long it really takes to get from a Syosset Haldi to a Westbury Sangeet on a Friday night.

Filming Long Island venues

Long Island venues each give a film its own character. Gold Coast mansions and estates on the North Shore give you sweeping staircases, long driveways and formal gardens, which suit slow, cinematic movement. Large catering halls in central Nassau are built for big receptions, with stage lighting and dance floors that make for high-energy footage. Waterfront clubs on the South Shore and the bays bring sunset light on the water, and the vineyards and barns of eastern Suffolk add open fields and a slower pace.

Catering halls often host more than one event at once and run tight schedules, so we work with your coordinator on when we can film the room and where the family can gather for portraits. For mansion and estate weddings, we plan where the sun will be at ceremony time and how sound carries across a lawn.

Sound, speeches and music

The parts of a wedding film you will watch most often are the ones with sound: your vows, the readings, the priest’s mantras and your parents’ speeches. We place small microphones and recorders for those moments and, where your band or DJ allows it, record from their system so speeches stay clear over a full room. Outdoor ceremonies on the water bring wind, so we plan microphone placement with that in mind.

Multi-day Indian weddings on Long Island

Long Island has a large South Asian community, from Long Island’s Little India on Broadway to Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Pakistani, Tamil, Telugu and Malayali families across Nassau and western Suffolk. Many of their weddings run over several days, and we film multi-day weddings that blend Indian and American events. A Long Island film might move from a backyard Haldi to a banquet hall Sangeet, a Baraat with dhol in a hotel forecourt, the Pheras, and a reception with a first dance. For South Indian families, an early Muhurtham with the Kashi Yatra, the Oonjal and the Thaali tying gives the film a quieter, sacred opening. See Indian wedding videography and South Indian wedding photography.

Aerial footage

A few seconds of aerial footage over a mansion, a beach or a vineyard can set the scene for the whole film. Long Island sits close to several airports, so drone flights depend on FAA airspace rules and your venue’s permission, and we plan them case by case. See drone photography and videography.

Close to home, all day

Being based in New York means short drives to most of Nassau and western Suffolk, which helps with early starts and back-to-back events. For weddings out east on the North Fork or in the Hamptons, we plan around summer traffic so we arrive well before getting-ready coverage begins.

Your film

Most couples choose a highlight film to share with family and friends, plus longer edits of the ceremony and speeches. Packages can be customized with extra hours, events and photography from the same team, so photo and video work as one crew. Some of the best Long Island footage happens at home

Before the hall or the hotel, there is the family house, full of relatives, food and last-minute ironing.

Where we like to film on Long Island

Wide spaces, water and estate gardens give a Long Island wedding film its scale. Some of these places ask for a permit or a fee for professional sessions; we check the current rules before we book a time.

How a home event and a hall event fit into one film day.

  1. 01

    Film the ritual

We cover the Haldi or Pithi at home while the morning light is still soft.
  2. 02

    Film the house

While the couple washes and changes, we film the details: the thali, the flowers, the food, the relatives resting.
  3. 03

    Go ahead to the venue

When your package includes more than one videographer, one leaves early to place microphones and film the room before guests arrive.
  4. 04

    Follow the couple

The other films the move from home to the venue, so the journey becomes part of the story.
  5. 05

    Pick up the evening

The Sangeet, Garba or reception coverage starts with the room already filmed and the sound already set.
